Thoughts #3

12/3/24

Hello, hello!

Welcome back! I'm working on sening Origins to an editor now, so I should be on schedule for my planned release. Here I'm going to briefly lay out my plans for the future.

I'm aware most of what I say here will mean little to outside perspectives. As I'm the only one with an inside perspective for now, you'll have to bare with me.

I may have mentioned somewhere before, but it's been a busy week so the details are starting to blend together. I originally had planned to release my books in this order: Foundations, Origins, Demise, Origins II, Foundations II, Demise II, etc. But now I've scrapped the idea. I have a month to play with my alternative, but I'm thinking this next idea will be what I stick with.

Based on outside inspriation and the way the entertainment market has moved, I'll be scrapping my first plans since they are awfully Marvels: Avengers like. That is to say, there was a lot of seperate stories that felt like they should be connected. This was a bit intentional, but it serves no purpose for the current narratives.

As such, I'll be changing my release order to this: Foundations, Origins, Origins II, Foundations II, Demise, etc.

Now to address some potential questions with this change.

Why is Origins releasing back to back? I always planned for Origins to release before Foundations, but when I approached the issue of which book should be published first, aka which book should be my first ever published work, I found Foundations was more appealing to me at the time. So, to fit back in with timeline, as Origins is set before Foundations, I'll be changing the order of release for these series. This was intended all along as can be seen from the original release plan.

Does this change any story? Not really. These first few books have already been "written" as I'm reusing most of what was originally published online. We're still too early in this process to have much impact.

Where is Demise II then? This is a harder question. I have a clear answer, but I don't want to say anything to spoil upcoming books. But I'll put it this way, my current plan is to have Demise delayed behind the other two series. For example, when Origins III and Foundations III release, Demise II will follow. But I won't say too much more on that.

Okay, if this is the release order, how long will it take? I'm current planning on a four month release schedule targeting every April, August and December. I've come to call it my AAD release order. Of course, if Origins does release this December 31st as stated, then everything is in order. I'll fulfill the first AAD release when Origins II, or whatever I decide on, comes out in April. It's easy to have set months for people to expect releases then announce delays than readers always wondering when the next thing will come out.

These are a lot of books, how are you going to do all this? I wont lie, it's a lot of work sometimes. But I like it. I'm not worried about delivering the best books possible, though I'd love to write masterpieces in four months! It seems too ambituous for a 400 page epic every four months with picture perfect explainations and life-like characters. I'm working on my craft everyday and hope every book will get progressively better. I believe in the end all these series will be great! (Right now, I'm happy with my character writing, but I need to improve my descriptions, without muddying the storytelling.)

How many books will be in each series? I'm still playing around with this idea for now, but I'm thinking about it in arcs. We are in the first arc for both Foundations and Origins, everything I released online was still in arc 1, even if it was seperate books. Foundations is still a little unknown right now, as it's not on the top of my mind. But I'm thinking of cutting Origins off around 7 books. But that's just an idea for now, don't quote me on it.

How can I support you in this process? Okay, this was a cheesy question to add, but it feels a bit necessary. Anyone reading this at this point is probably family or friends. The best way to support me right now is to buy my books and leave a review. I understand people live busy lives, so if you can't read it, that's fine. Just knowing it's sitting on shelves somewhere brings me joy. I plan to expand into proper marketing, and maybe even start a Patreon, sometime next year. But I have to weigh how I feel about everything. I'm not doing this to be rich and famous, but I'd love to make it my job at least. Every little bit helps!

Thank you for reading this far, if you're still following along in my journey, thanks a ton! I love and cherish everyone who's been there for me, and everyone who will be in the future! I look forward to what's coming, no matter what may lay ahead!
